Speaker Photo Marc Koehler, Lead With Purpose

Marc Koehler is the President of Lead With Purpose, a company dedicated to helping people lead more purposeful and inspiring lives.  The company provides leaders with simple tools and best practices that help get everyone on the same page and rowing in the same direction.

Lead With Purpose was forged out of Marc’s work as an Interim CEO over a 10 year period where he personally experienced the leadership challenges small-business owners face.

In his first assignment, he quickly recognized that the tools he had learned and used to be successful in large organizations were not working.  Driven by a sense of urgency, Marc went back to his time in the US Nuclear Submarine Force and started bringing forward that leadership approach and set of tools.

What he noticed surprised him. The tools and best practices from the Navy helped him to create a common vision and shared purpose that everyone could understand and buy into.  This created a more engaged and empowered team and ultimately a successful outcome.

Over the next ten years, Marc was in a small-business leadership laboratory testing live and experiencing first-hand what worked and what didn’t.  He continued to simplify and noticed that regardless of the industry, company size, or location, the approach and best practices brought forth from the Submarine Force were helping to transform the lives of leaders, the people they led, and ultimately their company.

Wanting to have a bigger impact, Marc started Lead With Purpose in 2012 and made available the tools that any person can learn to become a more effective leader. The keystone tool is an online single page plan that fosters transparency, trust, employee engagement, and helps people to stay focused on what matters most.

Marc is the author of Leading With Purpose, an award winning book which steps leaders through the creation of a one page success plan and then shows them how to use it with their employees to collectively drive success, solve problems, and manage change. Marc has presented at many prestigious leadership conferences across the US spreading his message of leading a more purposeful and inspiring life. In 2017, Lead With Purpose will launch a one page family plan that will help people create a stronger family and a more balanced life.

Marc has four year degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He served his country in the US Submarine force from 1988 to 1993. Marc and Heidi, his wife of 22 years, live in San Diego, California with their daughters Anja (20), Liesel (17), and Sophie (15).  Marc enjoys spending time with his family at the beach and on the soccer field.

Speaker Photo Douglas Kolker, Sandler Training

Sandler Training is an international consulting organization with 254 training centers worldwide.  Sandler utilizes distinctive, non-traditional sales and management methodologies, supported by continual reinforcement through ongoing training and individual coaching sessions.

Douglas Kolker founded a hugely successful, nationally recognized marketing service agency and ran it for 21 years.  Despite the success, Kolker remained frustrated by the constant arm wrestling with prospective clients.  As a solution, he turned to Sandler Training, which reverses traditional sales beliefs and approaches.  The system focuses conversations on qualifying prospects’ most pressing needs and the investment they are willing to make to fix them.  “The very first time I approached a prospect this way, it worked like a charm.  A huge account that had been stonewalling us for 7 months, Lexus Motors USA, started doing business with us in less than 10 minutes, after we approached them in a completely different manner than we had in the past.  It has worked for us ever since,” reports Kolker.

Now the President of Sandler Training, which recruits and deeply qualifies salespeople and sales executives, Kolker and his team deliver a total selling solution to help companies improve their top and bottom lines.  Kolker and his team have customized selling solutions for companies in a range of industries including corporate benefits, software, insurance brokers, office equipment, printers, entertainment, high tech, law firms, aerospace, accounting firms, and marketing research.

Kolker graduated with honors from Hofstra University, lives with his 2 beautiful daughters in Los Angeles, and enjoys playing a wide variety of competitive sports.
