Speaker Photo Ruth Cossio-Muniz, SBDC

Ruth has managed operations, program development and funding of structured, collaborative projects in the public and private sectors. Having previously served as an Assistant Director, she reunited with the SBDC team as Director in the summer of 2018.  She also oversees the Digital Media Center, which houses a business incubator, co-working space for entrepreneurs, consulting and training workshops for the SBDC.

Prior to her current role, she was Director of the Corporate Training Institute at Rancho Santiago Community College District’s Economic Development Division where she provided businesses with professional development workshops that enhanced computer software proficiency and customer service skills of their workforce. Her leadership helped increase production and bottom-line profitability for companies. As a former Account Executive for leading advertising and PR agencies in Los Angeles and Orange County, Ruth also managed national corporate projects, which strengthened her knowledge in branding, marketing, consumer research, industry forecasting, stakeholder and media relations.

Jeff Auerbach founded Emphasis Digital Marketing Agency 2 years after a 20 year career in IT.  Emphasis helps businesses generate leads and sales through digital advertising.  Since it’s inception Jeff has helped dozens of local and several national businesses use Facebook ads effectively to generate lifetime clients and large profits. Prior to founding Emphasis, Jeff founded EMR GROUP in 2005.  EMR helped medical practices make the jump from paper to digital.

Juan C. Perez has been the Leader of the IBM MaaS360 NA MSP and MSSP Business Development Program since July 2018. In this capacity he is responsible for MaaS360 business development, revenue and technology partnerships with all North America based Managed Service Providers and Cloud Integrators. Prior to this role, Juan C. was IBM MaaS360 Sales Leader for Latin America. In this capacity he was responsible for IBM’s MaaS360  Enterprise and Commercial Sales Team and the MSP Sales Program development throughout the region. He was instrumental in driving new revenue through channel business including distributors, resellers, MSPs, partner alliances, and all forms of business partner revenue streams.

Anilkumar Attappilly has been Program Manager of Cloud and Managed Service Providers and ISVs, North America since January 2016. In this capacity he is responsible for business development, revenue and technology partnerships with all North America based Independent Software Vendors, Managed Service Providers and Cloud Services Providers.


Prior to this role, Anil was Program Manager, Business Development and ISVs, North America. In this capacity he was responsible for IBM’s partnerships for software, systems and cloud services with all North America based Independent Software Vendors. This includes business development, technical enablement and embedded software sales. He was instrumental in driving WebSphere channel business including distributors, resellers, ISVs, GSI, partner alliances and all forms of business partner revenue streams.

Seth Rubenstein, Director of Business Development and Channel Management at Domotz, has twenty plus years of experience helping commercial and residential system integrators, MSP’s and vendor partners leverage industry leading software tools, for system design, documentation and proposals as well as remote monitoring and management, to convert knowledge and expertise into repeatable processes, actionable intelligence and growth.

I am a Business Development Manager for North America at Interwork Technologies. Interwork Technologies is a North American Specialty Distributor of Cyber Security and Service Provider solutions. Interwork partners with leading vendors, like Trend Micro, to deliver exceptional service, value, and expertise to our channel partners through our ability to connect the right people, products, and partners.

As a Business Development Manager, I have developed my expertise of reseller development through multiple channel programs, which has resulted in increased sales for my reseller partners. Understanding how Vendor programs work allows me to simplify the process for our resellers to know what they need to do. I hold a bachelor’s degree in business with minors in Economics & Finance, and Psychology. On a more personal note, I cherish free time spent with my family, whether it’s boating or backyard barbeques.

Rachel Pang has been with Google since the beginning of 2019 working across the GSuite and Chrome products.  Currently she is a Chrome Sales Specialist focusing on acquiring and working with enterprise and mid-market customers in California and Texas - helping companies rethink their digital experience for their workforce.  Prior to joining Google, Rachel worked at LinkedIn, Cisco Systems, and Deloitte Consulting.  Outside of work Rachel enjoys traveling internationally, hiking with her dog during the weekends in the Bay Area, but all that will change as she is expecting her first child this year.

Alex Humphrey is a passionate cyber security author and speaker who serves as the Senior Security Consultant at CriticalSTART. He works with organizations globally to build security into their endpoint, server, and cloud environments. Alex holds numerous security and cloud certifications including the AWS Certified Security Specialty. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Dallas.
