Marc Koehler
Presenter   Marc Koehler
Company   Lead With Purpose
Topics * Achieving Harmony

Marc Koehler is the President of Lead With Purpose, a company dedicated to helping people lead more purposeful and inspiring lives. The company provides leaders with simple tools and best practices that help get everyone on the same page and rowing in the same direction.

Lead With Purpose was forged out of Marc's work as an Interim CEO over a 10 year period where he personally experienced the leadership challenges small-business owners face.

In his first assignment, he quickly recognized that the tools he had learned and used to be successful in large organizations were not working. Driven by a sense of urgency, Marc went back to his time in the US Nuclear Submarine Force and started bringing forward that leadership approach and set of tools.

What he noticed surprised him. The tools and best practices from the Navy helped him to create a common vision and shared purpose that everyone could understand and buy into. This created a more engaged and empowered team and ultimately a successful outcome.

Over the next ten years, Marc was in a small-business leadership laboratory testing live and experiencing first-hand what worked and what didn't. He continued to simplify and noticed that regardless of the industry, company size, or location, the approach and best practices brought forth from the Submarine Force were helping to transform the lives of leaders, the people they led, and ultimately their company.

Wanting to have a bigger impact, Marc started Lead With Purpose in 2012 and made available the tools that any person can learn to become a more effective leader. The keystone tool is an online single page plan that fosters transparency, trust, employee engagement, and helps people to stay focused on what matters most.

Marc is the author of Leading With Purpose, an award winning book which steps leaders through the creation of a one page success plan and then shows them how to use it with their employees to collectively drive success, solve problems, and manage change. Marc has presented at many prestigious leadership conferences across the US spreading his message of leading a more purposeful and inspiring life. In 2017, Lead With Purpose will launch a one page family plan that will help people create a stronger family and a more balanced life.

Marc has four year degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He served his country in the US Submarine force from 1988 to 1993. Marc and Heidi, his wife of 22 years, live in San Diego, California with their daughters Anja (20), Liesel (17), and Sophie (15). Marc enjoys spending time with his family at the beach and on the soccer field.

Skyler Ditchfield

Company   GeoLinks
Topics * Innovative Internet and Phone Solutions

Born in Ojai, California, Skyler Ditchfield's entrepreneurial roots began at the age of six selling food, video games, lemonade, and basically anything else he thought people might buy, door-to-door and on the side of the road. He dove into the world of technology at the age of 13 when he set up a bulletin board system (BBS) to service 200 members of his local community with dial-up Internet. Throughout his childhood, he became increasingly fascinated with long-distance communications and computer networking. Directly after high school, Ditchfield accepted a Network Engineer II job at the Private Network Management Center (PNMC) of MCI Worldcom in Silicon Valley servicing high-level clients such as JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Quotron, Reuters, and more. Although Ditchfield was the youngest technician at the maximum-security PNMC, he was quickly promoted to Network Engineer III after exceeding the entire staff in router reprogramming. When the company relocated to the East Coast, Ditchfield was one of two employees offered a transfer. Ultimately, he declined the offer and returned to Ojai where he proceeded to build a network business from scratch with $550 in startup capital.

Within 4 years, in a town of only 8000 people, Ditchfield grew his small I.T. services company to nearly 3M in revenue before selling his shares and moving on. During this venture, Ditchfield simultaneously won a six-figure government RFP, beating out a number of incumbent I.T. providers. In 2010, Ditchfield purchased a 50% share of an outside I.T. company where he quickly reworked operating procedures to maximize efficiency. With newly allotted time, Ditchfield was able to officially start GeoLinks in 2011.

Ditchfield currently serves as the CEO of GeoLinks, the fastest growing B2B Internet Service Provider in California, and Inc. Magazine's 2017 Inc. 5000 NO. 5 Fastest Growing Telecommunications Company in America. GeoLinks delivers Enterprise-Grade Internet, Layer 2 Transport, Hosted Voice, and both Public and Private Turnkey Network Construction expertly tailored for businesses and Anchor Institutions nationwide. Under his leadership, Ditchfield has led the company to record more than 100% growth for six years straight, and is on track for a seventh. In 2017, Ditchfield spearheaded GeoLinks' efforts in obtaining its status as a California Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) public utility, and launched the company into the national marketplace.

With a clear passion and dedication to providing affordable broadband to Anchor Institutions across the country, Skyler was invited to speak at the Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband (SHLB) Coalition's 7th Annual National Convention in June of 2017. He took the stage addressing how and why GeoLinks' fixed wireless technology, ClearFiber, is a viable solution when looking to close the digital divide in United States' rural communities. Following his address, GeoLinks was officially inducted into SHLB membership where Ditchfield currently sits on the fundraising council.

Recognizing him as an industry thought-leader in the country's evolving broadband discussion, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai formally appointed Ditchfield to the Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee's Streamlining Federal Siting Working Group in August of 2017. With recent induction into these elevated platforms, Skyler plans to continue and advocate to increase the amount of e-rate business across the US, and is actively pursuing further national expansion for GeoLinks' network.

Ditchfield is passionate about GeoLinks' Mission Statement - "Always put the customer first, by serving them in the same way that everyone wants to be treated." His innovative ideas have revolutionized the way data is transferred from global data centers to its final delivery destination. Ditchfield is committed to developing state-of-the-art advancements through the IT marketplace so the GeoLinks' culture may one day be available to everyone.

Robert A. (Bob) Nitrio is the CEO of Ranvest Associates, a business technology consulting firm that he founded in 1992 in Sacramento, Calif. The company provides strategic business consulting and technology solutions to the SMB market. By becoming intimately familiar with each client's operations, Bob guides them through an analytical process designed to streamline and enhance their operations. Appropriate technology solutions are introduced to achieve increased efficiency, productivity, and profitability. The ultimate goal is to create an organizational culture focused on business continuity, keeping the client in business profitably every day until the company is ready to execute its exit strategy.

Ranvest has a vertical specialization in property management that is based upon Bob's many years as a real estate broker and his early career in apartment development and operations. Subsequently, in 1978, he started a commercial and public works construction company, which led directly to his early adoption of computers. The success he had in applying computing to business operations resulted in a passion for solving business problems through the application of technology.

An informal conversation with one of his best friends, who was also a real estate broker and property manager, led to an engagement to computerize those operations. That friend started telling his associates how computers changed the way he did business and soon Bob had a computer consultancy established in the San Francisco area. From that single conversation a new business was created Ranvest Associates.

Bob has continued his professional development by becoming a Microsoft Certified Professional and a Microsoft Small Business Specialist. Additionally, as part of his focus on business continuity, Bob has developed a specialization in enterprise content management and earned the designation of Enterprise Content Management Practitioner from AIIM the Association for Information and Image Management. He also co-founded the Sacramento Small Business Server Technology Group in 2004 and has been its co-leader since its inception. In this role, Bob has sought to assist peer companies become more proficient in their practices and to create opportunities for firms in the greater Sacramento area to work collaboratively as partners.
