In this role, Joy consulted to organizations on their technology and cybersecurity needs; her team conducted NIST 800-53, PCI and HIPAA assessments, implemented security and IT controls and systems, and educated client businesses on cybersecurity best practices. After successfully selling her security-focused MSP practice in 2018, Joy accepted the role of Senior Cybersecurity Education Director at ConnectWise (a Master MSP security vendor) through mid-2020. In that role, Joy gained worldwide attention for her thought leadership in the Human Element of cybersecurity while successfully training over 3,000 MSPs on the fundamentals of cybersecurity (including NIST 800-53, CIS, NIST CSF and Incident Response best practices) alongside Jay Ryerse and Drew Sanford, two well-known and respected MSP thought leaders.
